Founded in 2001, Habitat for Humanity York Region started as a local grassroots organization that with the help of a group of very dedicated volunteers and a handful of corporate donors, has built one or two homes per year.
We hope to change all this and build 10 homes per year by 2012, and we therefore need the continued support of our dedicated volunteers and the generosity of our donors.
The York Region/Bradford West Gwillimbury area borders Steeles Avenue on the south and Lake Simcoe on the north, with a total area of 1960 km2 (760 mi2). The population is about 925,000.
York Region is made up of Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Whitchurch-Stouffville.
Bradford West Gwillimbury includes Bond Head, Bradford, Coulson, Deerhurst, Dunkerron, Green Valley, Newton Robinson and Pinkerton.
