The ReStore Staff and Volunteers wants to thank YOU, our customers and donors, for your support of the ReStore. Since our move to our location on Davis Drive, you have made the ReStore the home renovation warehouse store of choice in York Region, resulting in a 13% increase in sales in Q1 of 2010 over last year! This means that the ReStore and Habitat York Region are able to build more homes and help more people in our community reach their goal of having a safe, affordable home for their family. ReStore Volunteers donate 9,328 hours in 2009!
The Habitat ReStore is key to helping Habitat for Humanity York Region build homes and build hope for families in our community. It is the great team of dedicated Volunteers that make the ReStore the best place in York Region to shop for new and gently used building supplies, furniture, fixtures and accents for your home and cottage.
In 2009, ReStore Volunteers donated an amazing 9,325 hours of their time! 9, 325 hours! The dedicated crew of ReStore Volunteer "regulars" contributed over 5,530 hours. High school students donated another 1,842 hours of time with the balance being donated by those fulfilling community service hours.
The busiest month for our volunteers? April 2009 with over 1,000 hours of time donated. On average, volunteers donate 777 hours of their time to the ReStore.

The ReStore is now open!
On September 1, 2008, the new ReStore opened at 776 Davis Drive, Newmarket. It is in part of a large industrial building at the corner of Davis and Alexander. We are very excited about our new location. It will be a great opportunity to display our broad selection of new and used household articles and building supplies in a bright and spacious setting.
Our ReStore, the 29th in Canada, was launched in January of 2004. The ReStore concept consists of a series of retail outlets that support Habitat across Canada. The revenue stream generated by the stores has become an integral part of Habitat's effort to provide affordable housing to those in need. In addition to providing profits to support the cause, the store provides office space, a meeting room and administrative support to the local affiliate. This allows the local affiliate to use all of the dollars received in donations for building homes.
What We Do:
The ReStore is a retail outlet that accepts donations of used renovation materials and household goods and then sells them to the general public. We take all of the items you would generally remove from your home during a renovation. This covers the spectrum from light fixtures through doors and windows all the way to complete kitchens. Additionally we accept major appliances, wooden furniture and a variety of other "stuff".
Pickup for bulky donations is available. Call Loretta at 905 868 8723 to arrange pickup or to learn more about what we can or cannot accept. We also have a salvage team to remove donated kitchens and to recover saleable products from buildings that are going to be demolished.
The Kitchen Store is now a part of the new ReStore where we can display full kitchens. We are currently focusing on the sale of complete used kitchen sets. As suitable materials become available on a consistent basis, we plan to expand our product offering. To attract donations for this venue, we offer donors of suitable kitchens a free tear out service. The donor saves tear our fees and haulage and tipping fees. This usually amounts to an upfront saving for the donor of four to five hundred dollars. When their kitchen is sold the donor is issued a charitable tax receipt for the retail price we obtain for the unit at time of sale.

Where We Are:
We are now much easier to find! Our new store is located in Newmarket at 776 Davis Drive (SW corner of Davis and Alexander) in part of the former Tenatronics building. Parking is available on the south side of the building with access from Alexander or Davis Drive.
What Are Our Hours:
We are open to serve you six days a week. Our hours of operation are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday, and open until 8:00 pm on Wednesday evenings.
What Can You Do:
Donate goods. An old retail adage goes "You can't sell from an empty wagon". You can help keep our "wagon" full through your donations. Drop offs are welcome during regular open hours and pickups can be arranged by appointment.
Volunteer. We are always in need of a helping hand around the store. Our salvage team can always use another handy person and the driver often needs a helper on pickups. Click here to sign up now!
Shop. The description of our store as a seller of used renovation materials is misleading. We get a terrific mix of products. There really is something for everyone.
